May 28th was officially The Musicians’ Wives Day proclaimed by Mayor Sylvester Turner & The City of Houston. The lovely wives consist of Founder, Brandi Jackson (married to Guitarist/Producer, Barry Jackson), Co-Founder, Diane Tribitt (Married to Bassist/Producer, Patrick Zuriel Tribitt), and members Greta Williams (married to Drummer/Producer, Patrick Williams), Shelia Moore- Piper (married to Keyboardist/Producer, Zachery “GP” Piper), Kanita Turner (Married to Saxophonist, Kyle Turner) & Sonya Early (married to Keyboardist/Producer Parrish Early). The upscale event was invite only which included some of Houston’s elite influencers, VIP guest, and public figures. Red Carpet attendees included Author Wend J. Turner, Chauncy Glover of ABC 13, Jonathan Martin of Fox 26, Mia Wright, Recording artist Just Brittany, Producer of The Yolanda Adams Morning Show-Marcus “Montana” Ecby, Comedian Heather Hatton, April Swapshire of Beautiful Struggle, Tony Hill of the New Orleans Saints, Carlos Wallace of Sol Caritas and a host of others.
#TMWLaunchParty was a gorgeous, glammed and elegant event hosted by KG Smooth of Majic 102 & R & B Diva, Leela James with a special presentation of a proclamation presented by Congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee. Congresswoman Lee expressed her sincere excitement for The Musicians’ Wives organization and all of their efforts to help our community especially during our recent flood.
As the night progressed, guest were able to watch the premier of The Musicians’ Wives Music Video, indulge in complimentary beverages, a full self-served buffet and sounds by DJ Supastar of 93.7 The Beat.
“This was the event of the year” said Rebekah Threlkeld of The Sophia Threlkeld Lupus Foundation.
The Musicians’ Wives Organization will continue to do philanthropy in Houston and surrounding areas, as well as implement musically inclined events with a purpose. June 24, 2016 TMW will host The Bonnie & Clyde Gifting Suite for the BET Awards in LA alongside Impact Magazine.
