Yesterday, BET Networks hosted a private film screening of the Justin Gatlin The Fast Life‘ series at the MTV/VIACOM building in Times Square.
The “FASTEST MAN IN THE WORLD” title was an American brand. Held by track gods such as Carl Lewis, the distinction was red, white and blue to the core. But with the dominance of Usain Bolt, the title has migrated to Jamaica. With Justin Gatlin, 100-meter gold medalist at the 2004 Olympic Games, the USA has an opportunity to regain the distinction. After running this year’s fastest 100-meter time at the U.S. Olympic trials, Gatlin is in the necessary shape to compete.
Olympic gold medalist Justin Gatlin will be competing for 3 Olympic gold medals next month in the 100 meter, 200 meter and 4×100 relay. The rivalry between Justin and Usain Bolt is being advertised as possibly the greatest showdown in Olympics history.
Over the short docu-series, BET Digital follows the Orlando, Florida native to his training facility and then takes a trip to the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon. For the former Olympic champion its all very clear: making the finals’ heat is only the start. Winning the race would be the ultimate finish.
