Check out our interview with Terry Herron where he talks about becoming an entrepreneur, Level V Event Space and how music is his life.

You have an extensive educational background which includes an undergraduate degree in political science and mathematics as well as a Law Degree. What motivated you to leave Corporate America and become a full-time entrepreneur?

It’s in my blood. What motivated me to leave altogether was the lack of challenge, the lack of growth, and being unable to utilize 100% of my full potential.

What inspired you to open up Level V Event Space?

Honestly, I just so happened to be in the right place at the right time. Networking while being in Corporate America was a great move for me.

You have been able to partner with the Department of Justice and Piedmont hospital on events. How did that happen?

Word of mouth is the best form of advertisement. I just so happened to host individuals that worked for these organizations on different occasions. When asked suggestions for venues to host their holiday parties, I was on the tip of their tongues. It’s all about the experience that you give people. Hence the name, Level V.

What advice would you give to someone who is interested in opening up their own venue Space?

Be prepared to work. Be prepared for every day to be different. Be prepared to adapt to change and growth.

What is the Premier Learning Center and what was the reason for its creation?

Premier Learning Center is a childcare facility owned by my mother and me. At a young age, I remember her plans and goals to help children and educate them. When I was 8 years old, she hosted her grand opening which was a major achievement for her. After 12 years of being in business, unforeseen circumstances occurred. Due to the outcome, she had to close down her business. Once I graduated from undergrad, I was able to partner up with her and open Premier Learning Center.

How important is it for you to give back to your community?

It is vital that we uplift our community. The streets we walk, the businesses we own, the children we raise are all a reflection of the communities that we live in.

Aside from being a business expert, you also have a love for dancing. When did you first discover this attachment to music and what type of music do you like?

Music has always been apart of my life. I couldn’t sing of course, but I would fall in love with every soul that could. Michael Jackson and Brandy were the start of my dance career as I watched these amazing performers on television and imitated their every move. I love all types of music and I am a trained ballroom dancer. With that comes the ability to dance to every song!

You were a pupil of Australian Dance Champion Jonathan Doone. What is the most important thing you, learned from him?

The most important thing that I learned from Jonathan is that “it feels stupid, but it looks GREAT!” Everything in life feels odd without practice, through repetition and dedication to the craft, it will become second nature.

What can we look forward to from Terry Herron?

I have some amazing charitable events coming up that are modeled after Dancing with the Stars. In the future, I also look to host some amazing events at Level V and expand the Terry brand in every way imaginable.
