Nancy Vuu Fashion Show

Monday was a great day for the #fashionistas and #fashionistos alike. Fashion designer, Nancy Vuu, put on an exquisite showing from the celebrated fashion house inside Toyota Manhattan for New York Fashion Week: Men’s where she showcased her ‘HIGH-FASHION ELEGANCE’ aesthetic and intriguing play on luxury couture.

Although this is not the first time Vuu has put on a show during a major event such as New York Fashion Week, this spring/summer 2018 show came with a substantial amount of community involvement.

This runway show, titled Strong & Bold HAUTE Color, was not the usual parade of indistinguishable fashion models. There was a much wider array of participants which included a mix of professional models, non-models, and young children. The professional athletes who took the runway were Kenneth Faried (NBA/Denver Nuggets), Terence Garvin (NFL/Seattle Seahawks), Anthony Johnson (NFL/New York Jets), Virgil Knight (MMA) and Steven Johnson (NFL/Pittsburg Steelers).

The “runway models” varied in height, weight, age, gender, and race which is a practice that is becoming more and more adopted during Fashion Weeks around the world. Nonetheless, they looked like royalty as they strutted down in their bold and intricate designs. The collection showcased gowns, men’s sports coats and kids suits in vibrant floral prints, ruffled tops and dresses for women and children, and rich flowing dresses that shimmered with so many metallic threads, heavily embroidered with jewels.

Check out a clip of the show below.

Here are some photos of the models on the runway!
