On Saturday, May 4, Actor and Producer Michael K. Williams will speak at the Boys’ Club of New York’s annual “I AM A MAN” series.
Taking place in the afternoon, the event will include a screening of the powerful HBO/VICE documentary Raised in the System, followed by a talkback with an esteemed panel moderated by The Quintessential Gentleman’s Editor-in-Chief Eric K. Thomas. Through the lens of this moving documentary, we will unpack the criminalization of adolescent behavior and engage new methods and responses to Black and Brown youth who have been adversely impacted by the juvenile justice system.
The Boys’ Club of New York (BCNY) provides enriching and inclusive after-school programming to boys and young men ages 7-21. BCNY’s $5 membership fee ensures that any boy can join.
