If you are going on a trip for work, the likelihood is that you are already thinking of it as a bit of a hassle. It might be that you have long meetings ahead, or that you have a big presentation to do. All of that pressure can add on the stress. We’ve made a list of some tips to make traveling for work that bit easier.

Make your Journey to the Airport Stress-Free

Getting to the airport for your flight can take some planning. You need to figure out how long you should be there before your flight takes off, and allow enough time for traffic etc. Instead of booking a taxi where you could end up racking up expenses – why not drive to the airport and park there? That way you can pack your car the night before and be safe in the knowledge you have plenty of time to get there.  For instance, when you park with Luton parking in London – there are lots of options.  You can opt for Official Luton Airport Long Term Parking, meet and greet and more.  In such a busy airport – booking on the Official Luton Airport Parking site makes things incredibly easy for you.

Fast Track your Airport Journey

One of the most frustrating things about having to go to an airport to travel is waiting ages at security. When the airport is at its busiest and it’s peak times – you can be there for quite a while. If you opt to get a fast track pass, it means you can skip the queues and

Make use of Business Lounges

As good as 4G is these days, there is nothing better than good WiFi connections when you need to send emails or do some work on the way. In most airport business lounges, you will also get access to complementary teas, coffees and such to make your time there more enjoyable.  This is a good way to get a head start on your work, and prep for the trip ahead.

Treat Yourself

Just because you are going away for work doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself a little. Make sure you check out what Duty Free has to offer when you get there. You will find some great deals on perfumes, aftershaves, makeup, alcohol and sweets. It’s always nice to get a little gift for loved ones too if you are going away for a few days and you will find lots to choose from.  If you don’t go for the business lounge – you may want to park yourself in a nice restaurant and enjoy a bite to eat.

Do your Research on Hotels

Before you book your hotel – you need to make sure it’s suitable for what you need on your business trip. You can check out the obvious things such as location to make sure you are close to whatever venues you need to get to. But ensuring there are good facilities such as WiFi, areas for you to work out with your hotel room etc are also important. If you will be spending a bit of time there make sure that there is a nice restaurant or place to eat for you or any meetings you may be holding, or that there are lots of options in the surrounding areas. Usually hotels will mention in their descriptions whether or not they are fit for business purpose – which should give you an idea whether they are suitable or not.

Prepare a Packing Checklist

The last thing you need when going on a business trip is to forget something. You may be able to replace some things at the airport or at your destination – but it’s an additional stress you don’t need. By preparing a checklist well in advance you eliminate that possibility. There are great apps you can get on your phone these days where you can create checklists and tick off as you go. If you need to use the same list again – you can uncheck them and go back to the beginning.

Research Public Transport at your Destination

If you need to get to meetings once you arrive, it’s a good idea to do a bit of research on the public transport links before you get there. The last thing you want to do is be late for anything. Use online resources to get the best idea for travel options, routes and timetables – so you don’t need to worry about it all when you get there, especially if it’s a new destination for you.

If you are getting ready to go on a big business trip and are planning your travels – hopefully some of these top tips will make life a little easier for you.
