The biggest question entering this years NFL season has been answered. Ezekiel Elliott flew into Dallas yesterday officially ending his hold out with the Dallas Cowboys. With two years still left on his rookie deal, Elliott was looking for a contract extension and he certainly got one for the ages. The Cowboys and Elliott has agreed to a six-year, $90 million contract extension. This contract extension makes him the leagues highest-paid running back.

All summer long, the NFL world has wondered if the two sides were ever going to come to an agreement. Zeke, who was spending his holdout in Cabo, held his ground against Jerry Jones and the organization as many players on the team were getting paid their money like DeMarcus Lawrence and La’el Collins. Zeke’s new restructured contract gives him $140 million dollars, $90 million in new money for his original contract, $50 million guaranteed, and $15 million yearly. He is now signed with the Cowboys through the 2026 season.

Since 2016, Elliot is leading the league in rushing yards with 4,048 yards, he is now the highest-paid running back in NFL history. Zeke is reporting to practice on Wednesday, which will allow him to play Sunday for the Cowboys season opener against the New York Giants.
