Colin Kaepernick Starts Publishing Company, Partnership with Audible, Will Include Memoir

In spite of being one of the 32 best Quarterbacks in the world, despite being blackballed out of the NFL the past three years, Colin Kaepernick has still found ways to be productive.

Whether it’s raising money for charity or giving away clothes during the Super Bowl, Kaepernick is now a publisher, after starting his own publishing company, Kaepernick Publishing, while also establishing a partnership with audiobook company Audible.

The print side will include his memoirs, which will detail his journey from muscle kissing physical marvel to political activist. Audible will handle the audiobook side.

In a released statement about his memoir, Kap said:

“I want to tell the story of my evolution, and the events that led me to protest systemic oppression, in hopes that it will inspire others to rise in action.”

Kaepernick’s journey to this point has gone from leading the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2013 to taking a personal stand against publicized Police shootings of unarmed black men, by refusing to stand for the national anthem … an act that would ultimately cut his playing career short.

He would then file a grievance against the NFL in 2017 under the collective bargaining agreement, alleging all NFL teams colluded to keep him unemployed. The NFL would later settle that grievance in February 2019.

Despite all that has happened, Kap still wants to play in the NFL, even working out for seven NFL teams in Georgia, and his representatives sent video of the workout to the 25 teams that did not attend.

When talking about football, Kap told USAToday:

”My desire to play football is still there. I still train five days a week. I’m ready to go, I’m ready for a phone call, tryout, workout at any point in time. I’m still waiting on the owners and their partners to stop running from this situation. So I hope I get a call this offseason. I’ll be looking forward to it.”

Kaepernick Publishing will not only be a place for black and brown authors, writers, and creators, to control their own narratives and retain ownership.

The deal with Audible is for multiple projects … including his aforementioned memoir.
