Wakanda Series In The Works At Disney+ As Ryan Coogler Signs a 5-Year Deal With Streaming Service
With Chadwick Boseman on our minds, many continue to wonder about the future of Black Panther in the MCU. Reports have said that there are no plans to recast Boseman in the role as the King of Wakanda but we all continue to wait to see what Director Ryan Coogler comes up with to honor Chadwick and continue the Black Panther legacy. And with Coogler's new 5-year deal under his Proximity Media Banner, with the streaming giant Disney+, the eagerness to learn more about the billion-dollar sequel to Black Panther is at an all-time high. Maybe with news of a Wakanda TV series being in the works, our curious minds will ease as we await the greatness of the Marvel Universe’s phase 4, which has already seen the likes of the series WandaVision, and the upcoming Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
Ryan’s deal also will see him create and develop television for other divisions of the company. The prolific director whose next project will be the award contender, Judas And The Black Messiah, opening this month, often keeps a low profile, while building his own lane in Hollywood. “Ryan Coogler is a singular storyteller whose vision and range have made him one of the standout filmmakers of his generation,” said Bob Iger, executive chairman of The Walt Disney Company. “It's an honor to be partnering with The Walt Disney Company. Working with them on Black Panther was a dream come true,” Coogler said in a statement, as he expressed his excitement to be able to create Television under the company.
