Kenan Thompson Talks His New Sitcom "Kenan" and What It will take to make "Good Burger 2"
Child actor turned Saturday Night Live mainstay, Kenan Thompson stars in his first primetime comedy, 'Kenan'. The show centers on familial relationships as Kenan tries to reclaim his life after his wife's death. Kenan's daughters are his world – the too smart Aubrey (Dani Lane) and the silly, unpredictable Birdie (Dannah Lane). He struggles to balance parenting them as a single dad and hosting his show, which leads him to reluctantly accept help from his father-in-law, Rick. Rick was a gallivanting sax player when his daughter, Cori (Niccole Thurman), was young and missed out on a lot of her childhood, so he is aiming to make that up with his granddaughters, although his old-school parenting style does not often match up to Kenan's.
While the day-to-day antics of Kenan and his crew have been making audiences laugh since its premiere this past February, Kenan himself is more excited that his show is able to get families together to watch a show that they can all sit back and enjoy. Recently, during a roundtable discussion, Kenan explained why he feels a show like his was ready to make a comeback, his hopes for the show, his time on Saturday Night Live, and the burning question on everyone's mind - Where is 'Good Burger 2. '
Kenan shares that the best advice he got for navigating Hollywood came from Steve Harvey.
He also talks about how he enjoys the idea that everyone in a family can enjoy the show.
When it comes to a Good Burger 2, Kenan is ready!
Make sure to tune into Kenan on NBC, Tuesday's at 9:30 PM ET.
