Malik Yoba, Angela Yee and Keenan Scott II Honored at 'Have a Seat at the Table' Event in Brooklyn
It's time for US to have a "seat at the table" and a star-studded evening in Bed-Stuy gave attendees the tools to do just that.
Hosted by philanthropist and TV reporter Phil Taitt and produced by ForSmiles Inc., Dream Reach Inspire, Together Again kicked off the holiday season with a new take on giving back at the historic Brooklyn Bank.
The highly-anticipated evening included an inspirational conversation on navigating the workplace and entrepreneurship, diversifying profiles and portfolios, activism through various industries and real estate. The panel discussion was led by the actor Malik Yoba (Dream Reach Inspire, Equity/ Housing Award Recipient), radio personality Angela Yee (Dream Reach Inspire Drum Major for Change Award Recipient) and Thoughts of a Colored Man creator Keenan Scott II (Dream Reach Inspire, Diversity and Inclusion Agent Award Recipient).
The goal of the evening was to encourage various communities to come together and "have a seat at the table" so that they can learn from one another how to be successful as a unit.
The evening also included a performance from the Brooklyn United Marching Band and Brooklyn’s very own Monique Sade and Paul Gee. Special guests included Mistress of Ceremonies Emmy Award Winning, Ayana Harry, brother of George Floyd, Terrence Floyd, NY1 Veteran ‘News All Day’ Anchor, Ruschell Boone.
All proceeds from the evening support Dream Reach Inspire’s programming in Brooklyn, New York offered to city youth.
