Ben Crump Plans to Sue the FBI, CIA and NYPD for the Assassination Conspiracy of Malcolm X
Malcolm X's family announces $100 million lawsuit alleging government agencies and the NYPD for concealing evidence in his murder.
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump and co-counsel Ray Hamlin will file a notice of claim with the intent to sue government agencies and the NYPD for the alleged assassination and fraudulent concealment of evidence surrounding Malcolm X’s murder. During yesterday's news conference, Crump and Hamlin were joined by the daughters of Malcolm X.
"The rhetorical question is this: if the government compensated the two gentlemen that were wrongfully convicted for the assassination of Malcolm X with tens of millions of dollars, then what is to be the compensation for the daughters who suffered the most from the assassination of Malcolm X?," Crump shared during the press conference.
Today marks 58 years since Malcolm X, originally Malcolm Little, was assassinated at age 39 while speaking at the Audubon Ballroom. On February 21, 1965, Malcolm X was shot a total of 21 times by a group of men in front of his wife and daughters.
"The connection between his death and federal and New York government agencies, including the NYPD, FBI, and CIA has long been contested," Crump shares. The governmental agencies had factual and exculpatory evidence that they fraudulently concealed from the family of Malcolm X and the men wrongly convicted of crimes surrounding the assassination of Malcolm X."
We will be staying tuned to see how this plays out.
