Father Gifts 13-Year-Old Son 40 Acres For His Birthday
A Black father just bought his son the most important gift of his life.
Faheem Muhammad, an entrepreneur from San Diego, gifted his son 40 acres of land on just his 13th birthday, according to blacknews.com. Muhammad said he wants to teach his son how imperative it is to own land and to have generational wealth.
A co-founder of a real estate investment firm, Muhammad said he bought the land in 2021 as a place to get away from the city life.
“We see clear space, where we can uninterruptedly enjoy nature, especially growing up in a congested city like L.A. When we are out here it's totally different, “ Muhammad said to CBS8.
Muhammad said he was imparted wisdom from his mother, Aminah Muhammad, who told him how important it is to own your own property and to give back to the community.
This wisdom was passed down to his son.
“I thought it would be a great opportunity to teach him a life lesson about the land,” Muhammad said.
His son now envisions the land to be an open space for camping.
“You could build, like, ATVs around the whole thing. Build a zipline from the mountain.”
