Lionsgate has signed a deal with rapper Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson to launch a free ad-supported channel called 50 Cent Action, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

What will this do? The new FAST channel will feature premium content from Lionsgate’s library, including the original Power series. Additionally, the channel will offer blockbuster movies such as The Expendables, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Rambo, and over a dozen other films featuring 50 Cent.

Lionsgate said it will work with 50 to promote, as well as curate the 50 Cent Action channel.

“50 Cent’s movies and television series are synonymous with non-stop action, and we’re thrilled to extend our longstanding partnership into the FAST space,” Lionsgate president of worldwide television distribution Jim Packer said in a statement a few weeks ago.

Additionally, Jackson will partner with the Hollywood studio via his G-Unit Film and Television and G-Unit Studios.

“This channel will bring diverse, action-packed content to audiences everywhere, reflecting my passion for storytelling and providing a platform for fresh, dynamic voices. I look forward to working closely with all the FAST platforms to make this a successful channel,” the rapper said in his own statement.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jackson emphasized the huge library of action movies that will be a part of the roster.

“I’ll make sure the quality of everything is there,” he said. “The platform has to be able to fit my original material. … Give me one year and I’ll be ranked the highest FAST channel.”

Lionsgate has launched nearly two dozen FAST channels globally, including Ebony TV and MoviesSphere, recognizing significant growth potential. This expansion addresses an imbalance, as channels targeting Black audiences currently constitute only 2% of all FAST channels in the U.S., despite African Americans making up 14% of the U.S. population.

The rap mogul, a native of Jamaica, Queens, is represented by Independent Artist Group and attorney Stephen Savva. Since launching his rap career, he has continually expanded his horizons, with this new FAST channel being his latest venture.
