If you think we celebrated the organization's 75th award ceremony just months ago, you are right. After the 2023 Emmys were delayed due to the Hollywood strikes, television’s elite gathered in January 2024 to acknowledge the achievements of actors across a plethora of genres.

Just like eight months ago, the cast of the hit comedy Abbott Elementary were the ones to watch. This attention was not just because of nominations for the show's creator, Quinta Brunson, and cast members Sheryl Lee Ralph and Tyler James Williams, but also to observe the chemistry between the cast, their fashion, and breakout star William Stanford Davis.

What was supposed to be a short stint on the award-winning show has turned into a series regular for Davis, a role that has audiences tuning in week after week to hear Mr. Johnson's latest scene-stealing one-liners.

"Important, historical, phenomenal," Davis described his experience on Abbott Elementary as The Quintessential Gentleman got ready with him for this year's Emmys. "It has been a phenomenal success... a global success."

The actor has been enjoying his recent success just ahead of the Season 4 premiere. With multiple projects lined up, Davis has been elevating his style on the red carpet. For Emmys night 2024, the journeyman actor wore Tom Ford. To finish off his look, Davis donned Martin Katz jewelry and Santoni shoes.

It is always a mental process,” Davis says about preparing for red carpet appearances. “I like to ensure I am mentally prepared because there are always many questions. I want to look my best and have a good time,” he adds.

Davis was accompanied by his wife, Laura, on the Emmys red carpet, which made for a perfect date night. According to him, the key to a perfect date night begins with impeccable grooming and choosing the right outfit. "It starts with grooming. You want to look your best, smell your best," he says. He tailors his attire to the event: "If it’s a dressed-up occasion, I dress appropriately and not too much. If it's casual, a nice sweater, a nice pair of slacks, a nice pair of sneakers."

When asked what one item every man should have in his closet, Davis shared, "A mirror. I think every man should have a mirror in his closet to make sure that he looks sharp and is leaving the house looking his very best."

Watch as Davis gets ready for the Emmys and hear his definition of a Quintessential Gentleman.
