Florida's Maxwell Frost, Youngest Congressman, Re-Elected to Continue Fight for Change
In a major win for Florida and Gen Z, Democratic Rep. Maxwell Frost secured reelection to the U.S. House on Tuesday. This will be his second term in Congress representing Florida’s 10th Congressional District.
As the youngest member of the House of Representatives, Frost has been a powerful advocate for gun reform, social justice and the values of the next generation since he made history in 2022 as the first Gen Z member of Congress at just 25 years old.
Before running for office, Frost gained recognition as a prominent activist advocating for gun control, particularly in response to the rise of gun violence impacting schools and public spaces across the country. His background as a social justice advocate has also driven his approach to other pressing issues, from climate change to economic inequality.
Facing off against Republican challenger Willie Montague, Frost’s victory was decisive. With a platform centered on progressive ideals and community-focused solutions, Frost was supported by not only young voters but also across diverse demographics in Florida’s Orlando-area district. His message emphasizes the importance of electing leaders who represent the values and concerns of an evolving electorate, especially as Gen Z begins to make its political presence felt in Washington.
