GoldenEye in 4K: Analogue 3D Resurrects The Nintendo 64
For those who spent countless hours in the 90s glued to their Nintendo 64 consoles, firing up GoldenEye 007 or hopping through Super Mario 64, you are about to be excited.
Analogue, the retro gaming brand, has announced the release of the Analogue 3D, a modern reimagining of the classic Nintendo 64. Originally expected in 2024, the highly anticipated console will now launch in early 2025.
Priced at $249.99, the Analogue 3D is a sleek, minimalistic design available in either black or white. Staying true to the original N64, the new console will be fully compatible with the N64’s cartridge library, so fans can do what they do best and dust off their vintage cartridges.
With a purpose-built 4K upscaler, the Analogue 3D will offer 4K resolution, bringing a fresh look to the nostalgic games many grew up on. In a nod to the past, the console includes multiple display modes to mimic the feel of an old-school CRT TV.
The Analogue 3D will offer a robust set of features for both modern and retro gamers. Bluetooth connectivity is built-in, alongside four controller ports, two USB slots and an SD card slot. The console introduces a new operating system, called 3D OS, which is designed to deliver a smooth and intuitive user experience.
While the console doesn’t come with a controller, Analogue has teamed up with 8BitDo to develop a redesigned version of the iconic N64 controller, minus its infamous third prong, for $39.99. This updated controller pairs seamlessly with the Analogue 3D.
We can't wait for this system to hit stores!
