True Religion and Chef Tayo Host Exclusive Friendsgiving at Ebi-Ayo Supper Club
True Religion partnered with Chef Tayo to host an intimate Friendsgiving dinner at the Ebi-Ayo Supper Club.
Held at Porch Dolores in Los Angeles, the one-night-only event celebrated community, creativity, and culture.
Known for his innovative fusion of Nigerian and Italian cuisines, Chef Tayo curated a menu that took guests on a flavorful journey. The dinner began with Jamaican patties from Her Banana Stand. From there, the menu demonstrated Chef Tayo’s ability to blend tradition with innovation:
Fried Fufu Gnocchi with Oxtail Stew: A crispy reimagination of Nigerian fufu paired with rich, slow-cooked oxtail.
Lobster Jollof Risotto: A bold union of Nigerian Jollof rice and creamy Italian risotto, topped with succulent lobster.
Truffle Yam Polenta with Grilled Honey Suya Chicken: Earthy polenta made with yams, served alongside sweet and spicy suya chicken.
Honey Crunch Custard: A nostalgic dessert featuring Nigerian custard layered with homemade Peak milk whipped cream and honey corn flakes.
The event was part of True Religion’s Team True initiative, which celebrates individuality and creative collaboration across various disciplines. The Friendsgiving dinner honored the spirit of community by connecting attendees through the universal languages of food and fashion.
Chef Tayo, whose Ebi-Ayo Supper Club has become a staple of innovative dining in Los Angeles, reflected on the evening: “Friendsgiving is a time to gather, share, and celebrate the essence of family, friendship and community, which is at the heart of everything I create in the kitchen.”
True Religion echoed the sentiment, sharing that the partnership aligns with the brand’s ethos of self-expression. “True Religion’s Team True platform is all about celebrating authenticity
and self-expression, and Chef Tayo embodies this perfectly through his innovative culinary approach. By partnering with Chef Tayo, we are excited to merge the worlds of fashion and food, creating a unique and memorable experience for our Team True partners,” said Kristen D' Arcy, Chief Marketing Officer at True Religion.
The night was a true feast for the senses and a reminder that when creativity and culture collide, the results are nothing short of magical.
