Usher Finally Nominated for Best R&B Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards
Usher has finally received his first-ever Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album.
His independently released ninth album, Coming Home, has been nominated for the 67th Grammy Awards in 2025. While Usher has accumulated eight Grammy wins and 24 nominations across various categories, he has never won Best R&B Album.
Usher won the Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album twice: first for Confessions in 2005 (while Best R&B Album went to Alicia Keys for The Diary of Alicia Keys), and again for Raymond v. Raymond in 2011 (when Best R&B Album was awarded to John Legend and The Roots for Wake Up!). The award was later renamed Best Urban Contemporary Album, and eventually Best Progressive R&B Album.
Usher recently revealed that he has never taken the stage to accept an award in front of a live Grammy audience.
"I've won tons of Grammys, never walked on one stage at the Grammy and said thank you to the world," Usher told CBS’s Gayle King. "The categories that I've been in have never been televised."
Usher’s latest album, Coming Home, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart with popular singles like Good Good, featuring Summer Walker and 21 Savage, and Risk It All, featuring H.E.R.
Good luck to Usher and if he wins, we hope he can walk across the stage!
