BET Honors African American Excellence
BET aired the 2016 BET Honors last night as they honored this years most monumental people. BET Honors was established in 2008 by the Black Entertainment Television network to acknowledge the achievements of African Americans.
The Men and Women who were honored were: Lee Daniels Television and Film Award Eric Holder Public Service Award Mellody Hobson Award for Corporate Citizen Patti LaBelle Award for Musical Arts L.A. Reid Award for Excellence in Entertainment

Toni Braxton opened up the show with an explosive performance of her greatest hits with her sisters (Traci Braxton, Towanda Braxton, Trina Braxton) as backup singers. Toni Braxton was first discovered and signed by LaFace Records the record label L.A. Reid and Babyface created.
Jussie Smollet performs and honors Lee Daniels. Jussie Smollet is the star o Fox’s hit TV show Empire created by Lee Daniels.
