David Price to visit Dr. James Andrews
It is the phrase that no professional pitcher hopes to hear. “Player will be going to Dr. James Andrews for a 2nd opinion.” After suffering from some soreness in his forearm/elbow and going through an MRI, David Price will be visiting with the renowned Tommy John expert.
Price, 31, is coming off a respectable year with the Boston Red Sox, in which he pitched to a 3.99 ERA, went 17-9 and had 228 strikeouts. Last season was the first year in a 7 year, $217 million dollar contract.
Not the greatest news for an aging superstar, or a club that paid top dollar for him. Maybe the king of Tommy John surgery will have good news for him.
