Who is Demetrius Bethea?
Demetrius Bethea is a millennial executive, thought leader and philanthropist. In all endeavors, I pride myself on keeping the community first and being a servant of the people.
When did your journey to empower begin?
My journey began shortly after acquiring leadership and entrepreneurial expertise working for Fortune 100 and Fortune 50 companies in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona and noticing the need for a change in Corporate America culture beginning with implementing diversity and inclusion.
How important do you think giving back to our community is?
I believe giving back to our community is vital to our success, The old saying “it takes a village” applies more than raising children, it takes a village to change mindsets, break generational curses, it takes a village to rebuild what was once broken. Offering my time, energy and resources to my community is my way of preparing a better tomorrow for those who follow.
Tell us about 100 Men Who Give a Damn.
“100 men who give a Damn” is a philanthropic group who since inception has donated over $60,000 dollars to non-profit organizations that have utilized those funds to provide over one hundred beds to children in need, fund research for non-invasive rape-kits for children, in addition to funding food pantries and living arrangements to the homeless and less fortunate in their time of need.

What legacy do you want to leave for your children?
I want to leave businesses for my children to give them the ability to live life on their own terms, I want their story to be a continuation of my own less the misfortune and struggle with their own approach. I believe our children are the future and giving them advice and showing them through my success and failure the power of ownership will allow them to live financially free and grant them the privilege to empower our community to offer the same for other families.
What advice would you give someone on properly preparing a resume in 2020?
I would advise an individual preparing a resume in 2020 to view their resume as a movie trailer, view it as a short snippet of your capabilities to capture the interest of the employer you are seeking, Steer away from copy and pasting from your old job description because oftentimes the job description will not speak to everything you executed on a daily basis. Focus on highlighting your achievements and keeping your resume between 1-2 pages. avoid summary descriptions and a list of skills these are great talking points in your interview but they are not necessary for your resume. Familiarize yourself with the company and job you are applying for and ensure your resume is geared towards that role. Lastly seek expert advice reaching out to companies like The Royal Umbrella who are subject matter experts in this area will ensure you are set up for success in future endeavors.
How important in the African American community is to be entrepreneurs?
This is vital. For us, to progress, we must own. If we spend our lives selling our time for money and paying others to live in their homes or apartments we will die with nothing to leave the next generation. Ownership is not just vital personally it is vital for those closest to us.
When it comes to entrepreneurs, how important is utilizing a staffing agency?
I believe utilizing a staffing agency is the key to success. From my experience working with human resources and hiring managers, they often feel overwhelmed. Utilizing a staffing agency is an investment because you are buying back time for your employees so they can focus on executing the many other tasks they are faced with in day to day operations. If you are a small startup it is essentially hiring an HR department without the expense of benefits. A staffing agency such as The Royal Umbrella guarantees employees that we provide for up to 60 days. This is vital when running a business to ensure there is no interruption in business continuity.
What plans on expansion do you have?
Currently, we are not seeking to expand as we are focused on providing our current clients the best service possible in technology and healthcare however I would advise anyone watching to stay tuned as we plan to venture further into technological investments in the near future to help simplify the lives of our end-user in addition to helping them find meaningful employment.
