FOX HOSTS SOLD OUT ‘SHOTS FIRED’ SCREENINGS
FOX, the Black Women Film Network (BWFN) and Morgan Stanley hosted an advance screening of the new series “Shots Fired” at Atlanta’s Center For Civil and Human Rights.
Sheryl Gripper (Founder, BWFN), Chris Richardson (Morgan Stanley) and DeWanda Wise (Cast, “Shots Fired”) opened the screening with welcome remarks followed by a Q&A with show creator Reggie Rock Bythewood, DeWanda Wise, Jill Hennessy (Cast, “Shots Fired”) moderated by HGTV personality Egypt Sherrod.
Also in attendance were Da Brat (Rapper, Radio Personality “Ricky Smiley Morning Show”), Joseline Hernandez (Vh1’s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta”), Crystal Fox (OWN,”Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots”) Dionne Farris (Singer/Songwrighter), Gocha Hawkins (WE tv’s “L.A. Hair”), Jasmine Burke (Bounce TV’s “Saints & Sinners”), D. Woods (Recording Artist), Cornbread (Recording Artist), DJ Fadelf, April Parker Jones (OWN, “Tyler Perry’s If Loving You Is Wrong) and many more.
Earlier that week in Nashville, nearly 220 locals packed Belmont University to attend the screening and meet cast members Jill Hennessy and DeWanda Wise. Special guests included singer Taj George (SWV), Eddie George (retired, Tennessee Titans), Gina Miller (EOne), and Phil Thornton (RCA Inspiration), Gabby Jones (EOne). After the screening, 92Q radio host Sean Good moderated a Q&A with DeWanda and Jill.
“Shots Fired” is a 10-part event mystery that examines the dangerous aftermath of two racially charged shootings by law enforcement in a small southern town. With amazing music, and an all-star cast led by Sanaa Lathan, Stephan James, Mack Wilds and Helen Hunt, “Shots Fired” will entertain and challenge perspectives.
ShotsFired premieres March 22 at 8/7c on FOX, prior to the spring return of “Empire” at 9/8c.
