Why did you join Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated?
My cousin was a member and I saw the amount of outreach he was doing being a part of the organization. I wanted to pursue becoming a member of Kappa Alpha Psi while I was in college, however, they were inactive on my campus during my 4 years at Kean University. It was my cousin who encouraged me to pursue the fraternity after I’d already graduated. At the time, I was coming off of mentoring youth at my former church and Kappa Alpha Psi embodied many of the principles that I was already following.
How has being in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated helped you after college?
I can honestly say I haven’t taken much advantage of the networking opportunity and assistance that I know is available to me as a member of the organization. However, I have seen firsthand how it is truly a brotherhood. I’ve seen brothers assist one another in and out of the boardroom. Whether it is a job search, planning for your wedding, mentoring the youth, or just a place to stay when you go out of town – this fraternity is serious about supporting one another to achieve in every field of human endeavor. It is a great feeling to be apart of something where you know this type of energy exists and is available to you.
