Judge Grants Antonio Brown a Bond

After turning himself in due to a battery and burglary charge, Antonio Brown was granted a bond after all.

According to ESPN NFL reporter Cameron Wolfe, the future Hall of Fame Pittsburgh Steelers’ receiver turned himself into a Broward County jail late on Thursday night. Alongside him was a team of lawyers who were there to negotiate his bond, as reports initially said there wouldn’t be a bond.

But after a “lengthy” back-and-forth, a bond was set at 100K. With the grant, though, he will be required to get GPS monitoring, release his passport and guns, have drug and alcohol testing as well as a mental health evaluation.

Brown was issued the warrant for allegations he attacked a moving company truck driver close to his home in South Florida.

Hollywood police spokesman Christian Latta said in a news release Brown is charged with a felony of burglary with battery, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and criminal mischief.

What’s more, Brown’s trainer, Glenn Holt, was also arrested on a burglary and battery charge Tuesday, but posted a $20,000 bond Wednesday and was released from a Broward County jail.

Brown, 31, has been caught up in myriad issues over the past year, including accusations of a sexual assault, a confrontation between himself and his then Oakland Raiders’ General Manager Mike Mayock, a helmet issue and his foot being frostbitten.

Before that, there was some internal strife with the Pittsburgh Steelers when he and Ben Roethlisberger didn’t see eye to eye on some issues.

With all these issues reprising, it is clear that someone in Brown’s circle isn’t doing a well enough job to keep the Pro Bowl wide receiver out of the news, and that Brown is going through some troubling issues that need to be addressed steadfast and in a hurry.

And it needs to happen now before it’s too late.
