Kap is Back
Kap is back.
The San Francisco 49ers announced that quarterback Colin Kaepernick will finally make his first start of the season.
This move comes on the heels of San Fran getting off to a tumultuous 1-4 start. Still, San Fran will play a very competitive 3-2 Buffalo Bills team.
This is an interesting move as Chip Kelly, who typically runs an up-tempo, read-option system, is finally using his best horse to run his offense, after utilizing Blaine Gabbert.
Last year, Kelly, when he was the coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, never had the quarterback he needed. He, in fact, had Sam Bradford, who is now thriving in Minnesota, riding the coattails of the defense.
However, with all this being said, Kap will have a lot of naysayers, especially since his recent demonstrations of protest during the Star-Spangled Banner have angered many unreasonable people.
Bravo to San Fran finally doing what needed to be done.
