New York Fashion Week: Men’s. Its Newest Lights in the Sky.

Last year, the Council of Fashion Designers of America also known as the CFDA launched New York Fashion Week: Men’s, a standalone showcasing men’s fashion from all over, kicked off with the Spring/Summer 2016 collections at Skylight Clarkson Square in New York City. The sophomore season was held February 1-4, 2016 at Skylight Clarkson North.

New York Fashion Week: Men’s newly created division for men is on the cusp of returning for yet another spring season. The next season of NYFW: Men’s is back starting July  11- 14, 2016 with the Spring/Summer 2017 collections. The spring/summer shows are especially important, because the designers have the opportunity to assert their takes on what next year’s trends will or should be. The designers of the previous fall collections, such as Tim Coppens, showcased many new and innovative ways to layer garments, which will likely carry over into the spring collections.

Hopefully, the “earth tone craze” will give way to vibrant, kaleidoscopic prints and metallic statement accessories, which will reflect mankind’s optimism in the face of many recent tragedies. This would also compliment the new venue located at Skylight Clarkson Square’s alabaster backdrop, which is only one of many new venues that will accommodate the collections.

The newly rejuvenated New York Fashion Week is the summer must-see, because it allows you to see into the future yet still feel like you are in the present. Our list of designers to look out for include Robert Geller, Pyer Moss, Gypsy Sport, Carlos Campos, Timo WeilandDevon Halfnight-LeFlufy, to name a few. Check out these images from their past collections for inspiration.
