The New Edition Story: Biopic! Are you ready?

BET debuts the trailer for the highly anticipated movie The New Edition Story during the 2016 BET Awards show. This is different than most biopics as it will actually be a miniseries consisting of 3 episodes. The 3 part movie will take its viewers through the rocky, yet successful path of the legendary band New Edition.

New Edition is an R&B boy band which was formed in the 70’s in Boston. The members of the group were Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Rickey Bell, Ronnie DeVoe and Michael Bivins. Johnny Gill later joined the group. New Edition had hit songs like Candy Girl, Cool It Now and Mr. Telephone Man. The group went through a lot of controversial issues during their time in stardom but there music has always lasted. The Biopic has a phenomenal cast like the Empire breakout star Bryshere Y. Gray who will be playing Michael Bivins and singer-songwriter Luke James will be playing Johnny Gill.
