Thunder, Westbrook power past Denver Nuggets
The Oklahoma City Thunder, powered behind Russell Westbrook‘s sixth triple-double of the season, beat the Denver Nuggets 132-129 in overtime Friday night.
Westbrook finished with 36 points, 18 assists and 12 rebounds, breaking the Thunder’s three-game losing streak.
The point guard only scored 12 points through the first three quarters. But, the way Westbrook is playing this season, you can’t count him out.
He scored 24 points in the fourth quarter and overtime. His 17 points in the fourth helped the Thunder overcome a 13-point deficit.
Friday’s contest in Denver was Westbrook’s eighth straight game scoring 30 points or more.
He now has 15 career 30-point triple-doubles, passing Michael Jordan for the second. LeBron James has the most career triple-doubles with 20.
