Troy Stylez Accomplishes His Dream of Opening a Hair Salon

Celebrity Hair Stylist Troy Stylez dreams have finally come true. He recently opened the doors to his very own hair salon called DollMakers Studio which is located in Harlem New York.

The name Troy Stylez is becoming one of the fastest growing names in hair. Troy has developed a niche for creating scene-stealing hair, and his signature blond looks have been adorned by a roster of notable artists and personalities such as Cardi B, Porsha Williams (Real Housewives of Atlanta), Mya, Dr. Jackie (Married to Medicine), Lil’ Kim, and Pepa from the legendary Hip Hop group Salt ‘N’ Pepa, to name a few.

How does it feel to finally have your first salon?

I’m so excited about DollMaker Studio, it’s a labor of love. I put all my creativity into my shop.

Who was instrumental in making this dream happen?

My business partners played a role as far as believing in my talent, but the aesthetic and work that went into the salon were all me.

What advice would you give to others looking to open up their own salon?

The advice I would give someone would be that you have to fully believe in your passion because it takes time and it won’t happen overnight. Make sure you trust your gut especially when having business partners or investors. Communication is key and read over your lease and all contracts.

What were some of the challenges you faced getting to this point?

One challenge is staying focus and if you need help, it’s ok to relinquish some control.

What can we look forward to from Troy Stylez?

Troy Stylez has a lot on the way. A hair care product line, hair extension and wig line, reality tv and a children’s book.
