Urbanworld Film Festival
Last week, New York City played host to the 2017 Urbanworld Film Festival. Founded by Staci Spikes, the festival is in its 20th year and curates many films which tell stories about diverse characters and cultures. During the festival, attendees are able to see special screenings and attend panels with the cast and filmmakers. Sponsored by AT&T and Revolt, the film festival is one of the largest internationally festivals.
Baltimore Rising and Marshall were among some of the films that were premiered and the newest episode of Queen Sugar was screened as well. Over the 3 day event, many celebrities walked the red carpet including Sterling K. Brown, Chadwick Boseman, La La Anthony, Irv Gotti, Woody McClain, Jermel Howard, Kate Hudson, Kofi Siriboe, Ava Duvernay and more.
